Behind the mask she wears as skin
Underneath the smile she put on
Scars and pain start deep within
Ache and agony know her by name
Outwardly working to tear her apart
Evidently killing her slowly from within
Gripping her soul as it shatters her heart
Each day moving slowly to look at a face
Unrecognizable, gone with no trace
Distorted beyond substantial base
A girl once was there, smiling, bright eyes
Now nothing, just blankness and emptiness
Hollowness and vacuousness
Staring demise and failure
Yet somewhere deep down, blooming so soft
Deeply seated and rooted , sprouting and flourishing
A part of her grows, was never killed off
So she sits and she waits, letting it grow
Hoping one day …
